I hate West Side Story.
No really. The dance numbers, while entertaining, become tedious. The lovers, while amusing on their own, are incredibly tiresome when they spend entire songs doing nothing but gazing adoringly into one another's eyes and saying "I love you." But for some reason, after seeing it put on recently, I can't get it out of my head .
For one thing, despite being my second-least-favorite musical (the dubious honor of "worst" would go to Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat), it is the origin of one of my absolute favorite songs from almost any musical. That would be "Gee, Officer Krupke." I don't know why--I just love that song.
I also love Riff and the whole dynamic of the gang. When the Sharks or the Jets are messin' around on stage, I actually enjoy the play. I like "boys clubs"--they're cute!
So, Riff and some of the Jets goofin' off. Apparently, Action found a polic hat somewhere.
This should be scrapped. Will be. Eventually

First thing, good drawing. Secondly, the one in the police hat isn't Action, it's Ice. The one behind the fence to the left is Action. And finally, don't dis west side story. Really, if your going to put this much work into a picture of it, or search for art from it, respect it, if not adore it.
